What happens when Pengon blocks a message

The sender sees the normal thank-you message; you see it in your dashboard, and one click gets it back if it was real.

When Pengon decides a message is spam, it never reaches Squarespace, so it doesn't land in your inbox or your form's storage. The sender sees Squarespace's normal thank-you message, so a spammer can't tell it was blocked.

Every blocked message stays in your dashboard for 90 days, marked Spam, with what flagged it.

If a real message was blocked

Open it and click Recover (not spam). Pengon emails you the full message right away. It comes as an email from us; it isn't put back into your Squarespace form inbox. The message is also kept, without names or contact details, as an example we use to improve Pengon's filter.

If spam got through

Open it in your dashboard and click Report spam. It's kept as an example too, which helps us tune Pengon to catch messages like it.

If Pengon is ever unreachable

Your form keeps working: if Pengon doesn't answer within a few seconds, the message goes through to Squarespace as normal.
